Hi, everyone!

I hope you're cool wherever you are.  Ray and I are a bit heated:  our air conditioner decided to burn its condensor Friday afternoon.  So, it's warm where we are!  Hope you're much better.

In any event, I'm happy to be writing you.  We have our next meeting of the Santa Cruz Valley Republican Women on MONDAY, JULY 2, 2007, AT NOON AT THE ESPLENDOR RESORT IN RIO RICO .  That's where we have been meeting regularly lately.  I do hope you can make it.  Cost remains $20 per person.

We need you to respond to us either by email or by telephone (mine is 270-4427 and Joan's is 398-2192).  We have to guarantee the number of our lunches, so we need to make sure you get one if you come.  And, we really hate to spend money on lunches we don't eat!  We appreciate your cooperation in this.  We'd like to know by Thursday, June 28, but later is okay.  Thanks.

Our speaker will be State Representative JENNIFER BURNS, who represents parts of Santa Cruz County, including Nogales, Rio Rico and the Tumacacori area.  She is a dynamic young woman (a lawyer) who has given her energy to public service.  She will talk about this last legislative session, what's going on politically across our state, and any other topic you'd like to chat about.  You don't want to miss this!

Don't forget the raffle for the beautiful turquoise necklace.  Virginia Bristol has the tickets, but we can get more if we need to.  Just let me know.

The SUMMER QUARTERLY    in July 20-21 in Tempe.  Go the the AFRW website or call me for info.  We need to have members go. This is a fun time--and informative as well.  (I'll be in Texas for a family reunion.)  Then the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF REPUBLICAN WOMEN CONVENTION (biennial) will be in Palm Springs, CA, September 26-30.  We should take advantage of this as their often much further away.  Who can go?  You can go to the national website for info or call me!  You also have info in your last magazine from NFRW. Then, October 25-27, we have the ARIZONA BIENNIAL CONVENTION in Tempe.  Lots of meetings--but remember what 2008 is?  And who's likely to be the Demo candidate.  Does that inspire you?

We plan to have an update on the Santa Cruz County Republican Party at our meeting.  Summer's sort of slow, but we need to be ready for September.  We've lots to do, no?  And, one of the main reasons we began our group is to be an effective force for the GOP in elections.  So, buckle your seat belt, we're about to take off!

Don't forget to invite several someones to come to our meeting.  Let's have a good group and enjoy our fellowship!

Thanks for being a part of a group that wants to make a difference at local, state, and national levels.
