MEET THE CANDIDATES

CHRIS SALVINO:
Born in Chicago,
Chris Salvino is a trauma surgeon at Banner Good Samaritan
Hospital and a
retired Lt. Colonel. At age 12, he started his own asphalt paving
business and
used his earnings to pay his college tuition at University of Notre
Dame. He earned his MD from Loyola University’s Chicago Stritch School
of Medicine. Chris also holds 3 Masters Degrees in Aerospace Medicine,
Flight Test Engineering, and Space Studies; plus two additional
Bachelors Degrees.
Chris, his wife, Sue, have
two children, a boy and a girl.

DAVID SCHWEIKERT
David’s
political career started early…as a member of the Teen Age Republicans
at Sahuaro High School in Scottsdale. He went on to be elected a
two-term member of the AZ House where he served as Majority Whip. There
he sponsored the then largest tax cut in the State’s history, and took
the lead in reducing the size and cost of state government. He also
sponsored Arizona’s landmark ethics legislation that greatly reduced the
role that special interests played in developing public policy. David
then held the post of Chairman of the AZ State Board of Equalization,
overseeing billions of dollars in tax protests. In 2004, he was elected
to the office of Maricopa County Treasurer where he slashed bureaucracy
and pushed through pro-taxpayer reforms, serving until 2007. David
received his BA from the ASU School of Business and his MBA from the ASU
Executive Program. He and his wife, Joyce, are long-time residents of
Fountain Hills, where, together, they own and manage Sheridan Equities,
a real estate investment firm.

JIM WARD
Jim was born in
Marion, Indiana. After graduating from Hanover College where
he received his
BA in Political Science, Jim Ward earned his Masters Degree in
International
Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he met and
married his wife, Dawne. Jim started his successful advertising career
in New York managing global accounts such as Apple Computer, Microsoft
and Nike. More recently, for the past eleven years he was President of
Lucas Arts and Senior Vice President of Marketing, Distribution and
Online at Lucasfilm in Northern California. Married for 25 years and now
Scottsdale residents, Jim and Dawne, have 2 young daughters, whom they
adopted from China, hoping to give them a chance for a better life in
the United States.

ERIC WNUCK
Eric was born in
Milwaukee, WI. While working a full-time job, he earned his
Bachelor’s
Degree in Business Administration at Carthage College in Kenosha where
he received the “Lincoln Leadership Award” for outstanding character and
leadership. He later earned his MBA from University of Phoenix.
After college,
Eric entered the medical imaging field as a sales specialist in service
contracts. Subsequently, he started his own company, and is CEO and
President of Enhanced Medical Imaging. Married in 1996, he and his wife,
Suzy, and their son, Chance, reside in Scottsdale.
